THANKS FOR OUR CHRISTMAS ASSEMBLIES Thanks to PAW for their wonderful and lively Christmas themed assembly and to Rev Russell Dewhurst for his lovely assembly about the story of Christmas. THANK YOU – FAITH IN THE COMMUNITY TALKS Thank you to Mrs Farquhar and Mrs Goldsmith (PAW), and Mrs Hernandez for coming in to talk to year 5 about their faith and the difference it has made in the community. The children very much enjoyed listening to your different perspectives on faith and asking lots of challenging questions. CAROL CONCERT DVD’S For those who have paid for the DVD of the Carol Concert we will do our best to send them home with the children on the last day of term. There were some fantastic drawings for the DVD cover and as we couldn’t decide between two designers, half will have the design by Chloe Head 6C and the other half by Sophie Menzies-Gow 6C. The Programmes were also beautiful and the artwork done by: Sophie Bravery 4P, Louis Price 3AB, Lara Wong 6G, Anita Campas Parkinson 6G, Elena Evers 4P, Samuel Wilson 3AB, and Eva Farquhar 5M. SAVE THE CHILDREN FUND Many thanks to everyone for generously supporting Save the Children Fund at the Epsom College Chapel on Tuesday this week; when we raised an amazing £539.82. So along with the £306 raised by our choir singing in Sainsbury’s we will be sending Save the Children a total £845.82. CLUBS FOR THE SPRING TERM 2017 We shall be sending the Clubs Timetable and Club letters during the first week of Spring term and there will be no clubs during the first week of term. We are excited to announce two new clubs starting in January Key Notes music club and Junior Game Creators coding club. 5H SWIMMING STARTS ON MONDAY 16TH JANUARY 5H will start their sw imming lessons on Monday 16th January. If you have not already done so, please ensure all permission slips and voluntary donations are sent into school by the first week of the Spring Term. “BELIEVE” DISPLAY BOARDS IN RECEPTION Miss Gough and Mrs Day have worked hard to create new display boards for the Hall and Entrance Corridor reflecting the School Value’s statement ‘Believe’. The ‘Believe’ statement was a concept created by the children for our whole school competition. Each letter of ‘Believe’ represents a value: Brilliance, Enthusiasm, Learning, Inspiration, Equality, Vision and Every Pupil Matters. Children are rewarded when one of the values has been achieved. This could be through our House Point System or individual recognition through certificates and awards. CLASS LIBRARY Each class has a small class library of age appropriate books. Many of these have gone missing, they have a red tape on the spine, please have a look around for class library books and return to school, it is an amnesty so no fine, punishment or trouble will arise from returning them. Simply have a look and bring them back. Thank you. CLOSING DATE FOR 2017 RECEPTION AND JUNIOR SCHOOL APPLICATIONS Closing date for Reception and Junior applications for September 2017 entry is 15 January 2017. Full information is available at www.surreycc.gov.uk/admissions or for help call 0300 200 1004. HAPPY CHRISTMAS AND THANKS FROM THE PTA Thank you for all your support over this term. This term we have raised £2784.86 so far and this excludes the Christmas Fair, Year 6 calendars and any additional Easyfundraising funds from all your online Christmas shopping. This has helped pay for three more Mimio Boards, next weeks’ Christmas Panto, work in the Eco area, Christmas tree and crackers, dictionaries and has part funded the “Believe” display boards. We have some exciting events coming up to look forward to in the Spring. So please put these dates in your diary:-  Friday 3 February 2017 – Year 5 Cake Sale  Wednesday 1 or 8 February 2017 – Film Night tbc  Thursday 9 March 2017 – Spring Disco  Friday 24th March – Musical Evening  Friday 24th March – Joint Comic Relief / PTA Fund Raiser I hope you have a relaxing and enjoyable Christmas.
