Wallace Fields Junior School first opened in September 1967. The school has seen a number of changes during its time - from a Primary to a Middle School, to a Junior School catering for children aged 7 - 11. In 1994 it was made Grant Maintained, and on the 1st September 1999 it became a community school. It is a mixed community Junior school for children aged between 7 years and 11 years with approximately 272 children. The local authority is Surrey and consistuency is Epsom and Ewell.
Teaching hours provided per year group are as follows:-
- Year 6: 32.5 hours per week
- Year 5: 32.5 hours per week
- Year 4: 32.9 hours per week
- Year 3: 33.3 hours per week
The main building contains the hall, a library and resource area, an administrative area, a canteen, an ICT Suite and eight classrooms. Each of these has an adjacent cloakroom and toilets. There are two further classrooms in the free-standing unit in the grounds; and there is a large playground and grassed area surrounding the school.
