PTA needs you - Just one thing!
See above the latest flyer regarding PTA at Wallace Fields Junior School. We need you more than ever!
Covid restrictions make it difficult for the PTA to hold its normal discos, movie nights, Summer and Christmas Fairs but we are hoping to hold a Celebration Evening and BBQ in early July. The PTA and staff have been very creative over the last year with fundraising solutions such as virtual runs and the "Break the Rules" uniform day. See below some posters and flyers with events we have held previously. Yet we still need to raise funds for more Chromebooks and other activiites and equipment which help bring the curriculum to life.
Any donations to the school are welcome however big or small. To donate online with gift aid please go to https://cafdonate.cafonline.org/8007.
We are a relatively new PTA team and are growing which is great - we welcome all parents who might be keen to get involved, whether coming up with fabulous creative fundraising ideas, communications support, any and all offers of help are greatly appreciated. If you are interested in helping on the PTA for just one event, doing one small thing or being much more involved please do not hesitate to contact the PTA on http://firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you again for you support and here’s to a great and positive 2021.
- Mrs Mooney & Mrs Houghton are Co-Chairs
- Mrs Siddiqui - Treasurer
- Mrs Ware - Secretary
- Plus we have an active team of an additional six.
- If you would like to join or offer any help email email@example.com
ORGANISED? CREATIVE? COMMUNICATIVE? SOCIAL BUTTERFLY? BUDGET WHIZZ? HAVE A CHILD JOINING WALLACE FIELDS THIS SEPTEMBER? THEN READ ON….!!
Wallace Fields Junior School has an active and really friendly PTA team who are looking for new members to join to help drive future fundraising events and idea for the coming year.
We have the following roles available and would love to chat to anyone keen to consider these, or elements of them from Autumn term:
With a hands-on team and plenty of parents willing to help, this role helps to schedule termly meetings, drive fundraising ideas, structure event plans and liaise with the school in terms of R&R’s and communicating plans with parents. This could be a Co-Chair role if preferred to split as a team.
Our current treasurer will be leaving at the end of the summer term, so if you are a whizz at excel spreadsheets, donation platforms and managing accounts, we need you!
General PTA members
We are always looking for more people to join the team with whatever skills you have to offer, great at social media management (creating posts, events and responding to queries), admin support (inc. PTA email account, school office liaison, etc), creative skills fundraising experience & lead generation, great local contacts for raffle and auction prizes, event planning, etc etc – we would love to hear from you all!
Please contact Jenny Houghton if keen to join and if you have any questions regarding any of the roles or potential support you can offer: firstname.lastname@example.org/ 07766336216

Treasurers' update 2020
Thank you so much to all those who have helped and participated in PTA fundraising. As of 18th December 2020 we have raised a fantastic £5,461 so far this Autumn. PTA Treasurer Suraya Siddiqui
The breakdown is as follows:
|Mix & Match Day||£235|
|School Uniform Sales||£25|
|Christmas Jumper Day||£399|
We would encourage parents/carers who have sign up to help the PTA as class rep to help co-ordinate teachers gifts as well as organise volunteers to man events such as fairs and cake sales when they return. If you are able to help with one of these vacant roles please email email@example.com
We are looking to arrange a virtual PTA meeting soon, please contact us if you are interested in taking part.
Please find below the minutes from our last PTA meeting and from the AGM.
Cake sale nut policy
We are a nut free school, but appreciate that many cake manufacturers state that their products may contain traces of nuts. We would advise very strongly that any child, who may be allergic to nuts avoids purchasing these cakes at our PTA cake sales. There are some homemade cakes and we have asked that these do not contain nuts, however we cannot guarantee that they are completely safe and appropriate, so it is at the parents’ discretion whether they allow their child to consume these home-made cakes at PTA cake sales. We will label the tables, so it is clear which cakes are homemade and which are manufactured.
PTA are in the great position now of being able to claim back Gift Aid on donations. That’s 25% (an extra 25p for every £1) for every donation if you are a UK taxpayer. If you would like to donate to the School Fund with Gift Aid claimed, please use this link https://cafdonate.cafonline.org/8007. The PTA is a charity and can claim gift aid whereas the school cannot as it is not a charity. We also claim gift aid on sponsorship, school fair entrance donations and other donations.

Many companies throughout the UK offer employees the chance to boost their fundraising efforts by 'matching' the money they raise. It really is money for nothing, and your PTA could double the amount of cash it raises with very little effort. Please contact your Human Resources department to check if your company run a scheme and can give you a form to fill in. For more information about Match Funding go to http://www.pta.co.uk/funding/faqs-match-funding.aspx
