PTA needs you - Just one thing!

See above the latest flyer regarding PTA at Wallace Fields Junior School.  We need you more than ever!

Covid restrictions make it difficult for the PTA to hold its normal discos, movie nights, Summer and Christmas Fairs.  It makes it difficult to hold the joint events with the Infant School such as the Circus and Bonfire Night Celebrations.  See below some posters and flyers with events we have held previously.  Yet we still need to raise funds for more Chromebooks and other activiites and equipment which help bring the curriculum to life.  We just need to be more creative in our fundraising ideas.

All parents and staff are members of the PTA and you are warmly welcomed to participate. If you are interested in helping on the PTA for just one event, doing one small thing or being much more involved please do not hesitate to contact the PTA on

Merry Christmas from the PTA

A Huge Happy Christmas to everyone from all at the PTA.  As we all know this year has been like no other and adjusting to the new ways of working and lack of interaction and events has definitely been felt throughout the school. We want to say a Big Thank You to all the parents/carers/ grandparents for their kind donations this term, when we know how much of a strain COVID has put on all of our finances - the continued support doesn’t go unnoticed.

Just this term we have managed to raise over £2,150 via the Sponsored Run/Walk and this will go towards more Chromebooks for the school.  If you do have any final sponsorship money for the sponsored miles then please do donate online at

The Christmas Raffle also raised a phenomenal £785 and enabled us to also support many of our local businesses. The raffle has now been drawn and all winners have now been notified.

We would like to thank all of the businesses who donated prizes without payment:

  • Alan Wilson dentistry
  • Enayden scents
  • GRAFT fitness
  • Styled by Marsha personal styling services
  •  RBP Security services
  • Light Republic photo studio
  • The Click Studios photo studio
  • Sainsburys

We are a relatively new PTA team and are growing which is great - we welcome all parents who might be keen to get involved, whether coming up with fabulous creative fundraising ideas, communications support, any and all offers of help are greatly appreciated. We will be scheduling our first AGM mid to late January and will share the date as soon as confirmed so please do join!

Thank you again for you support and here’s to a great and positive 2021.

PTA Team

It is such a challenging time for school budgets, as we have no extra funds to buy our much needed Chrome Books. So we are delighted to announce that we now have a fully functioning PTA team up and running!  Mrs Mooney & Mrs Houghton have kindly agreed to take on the Chair role as Co-Chairs – They are hoping that they can entice someone to pick up the reigns in 2021 but for now they’ll take ownership. Mrs Ware has also kindly agreed to come on-board as the secretary and we have an active team of an additional six as well as Mrs Siddiqui our treasurer. If you would like to join or offer any help email

Cake sale nut policy

We are a nut free school, but appreciate that many cake manufacturers state that their products may contain traces of nuts.  We would advise very strongly that any child, who may be allergic to nuts avoids purchasing these cakes at our PTA cake sales.  There are some homemade cakes and we have asked that these do not contain nuts, however we cannot guarantee that they are completely safe and appropriate, so it is at the parents’ discretion whether they allow their child to consume these home-made cakes at PTA cake sales.  We will label the tables, so it is clear which cakes are homemade and which are manufactured.

Gift Aid

PTA are in the great position now of being able to claim back Gift Aid on donations.  That’s 25% (an extra 25p for every £1) for every donation if you are a UK taxpayer. If you would like to donate to the School Fund with Gift Aid claimed, please use this link The PTA is a charity and can claim gift aid whereas the school cannot as it is not a charity. We also claim gift aid on sponsorship, school fair entrance donations and other donations.

Match Funding

Many companies throughout the UK offer employees the chance to boost their fundraising efforts by 'matching' the money they raise. It really is money for nothing, and your PTA could double the amount of cash it raises with very little effort.  Please contact your Human Resources department to check if your company run a scheme and can give you a form to fill in.
