All parents and staff are members of the PTA and you are warmly welcomed to participate in the range of activities offered. While providing an opportunity to enjoy social events, the PTA plays a vital role in fund raising for the school. We are currently raising funds for items such as a new hall projector system and some chrome books/tablets for the children.
PTA hold regular discos and movie nights, a Summer Fair and Christmas Fair, share events with Wallace Fields Infant School such as Circus and Fireworks, and many other events. See below some posters and flyers from events we have held so far this school year.
If you are interested in helping on the PTA for just one event, doing one small thing or being much more involved please do not hesitate to contact the joint chairs Lucky Patton and Fran Madel on email@example.com.
Thank you so much to all those who have helped and participated in PTA fundraising so far this term. We have raised a fantastic £2,843.06 so far this year. The breakdown is as follows:
- Winter Disco £591.70
- Race Night £444.49
- Year 3 cake sale £83.75
- Fireworks £1,723.12.
We had a very successful year in 2017-18. Income alone was £31,500 and overall profit before school spend was £23,000. WOW!
The table below lists the amazing £18,500 we were able to spend on the school last year.
PTA Payments to School 2017-18
To enable us to repeat this success, WE NEED HELP AND/OR DONATIONS to allow us to continue the success of the PTA. We want to make a difference to your child’s school. Let’s make this year even better, but don’t forget, we do need your help - please get in touch via firstname.lastname@example.org if you can spare time for background work, communications, helping at events or if you have fresh ideas (you might prefer to sponsor a new chair instead of running a Christmas stall). We are thin on the ground this year!
We IMMEDIATELY need to spend £12,000 on:
• year 3 furniture (the old is falling apart!)
• 14 more Chromebooks so that every child can use one and not share – this will make our total 34 – just enough for one class at a time
• more maths resources to suit the modern curriculum
That’s just for starters.
By helping at and by attending events, you are of course contributing, but you can also make a big difference with gift aid donations (parent donations last year came to £3300), easyfundraising (£700 last year) and Amazon Smile (it’s new for us this year) as detailed below.
Thank you to all the parents/carers who have signed up to help the PTA as class rep.
Year 3 class rep - Karen Telling and Caroline Cutler
Year 4 - Tamsin O'Sullivan and Julie Kingsley (Xmas Fair Rota). Vacancy for Cake Sale, Summer Fair Rota and Teachers gifts
Year 5 - Jenny Houghton (Xmas Fair Rota) and Lucky Patton (Cake sale). Vacancy for Summer Fair Rota and Teachers gifts
Year 6 - Mary Sorrell (Xmas Fair Rota) and Vicki Churchill & Claire White (Cake sale). Vacancy for Summer Fair Rota and Teachers gifts
If you are able to help with one of these vacant roles please email email@example.com
Please find below the minutes from our last PTA meeting and from the AGM:
The next meeting will be held on 1st March 2019 2:30pm in the School Staff room. Everyone welcome.
Cake sale nut policy
We are a nut free school, but appreciate that many cake manufacturers state that their products may contain traces of nuts. We would advise very strongly that any child, who may be allergic to nuts avoids purchasing these cakes at our PTA cake sales. There are some homemade cakes and we have asked that these do not contain nuts, however we cannot guarantee that they are completely safe and appropriate, so it is at the parents’ discretion whether they allow their child to consume these home-made cakes at PTA cake sales. We will label the tables, so it is clear which cakes are homemade and which are manufactured.
PTA are in the great position now of being able to claim back Gift Aid on donations. That’s 25% (an extra 25p for every £1) for every donation if you are a UK taxpayer. If you would like to donate to the School Fund with Gift Aid claimed, please use this link https://cafdonate.cafonline.org/8007. The PTA is a charity and can claim gift aid whereas the school cannot as it is not a charity. We also claim gift aid on sponsorship, school fair entrance donations and other donations.

Many companies throughout the UK offer employees the chance to boost their fundraising efforts by 'matching' the money they raise. It really is money for nothing, and your PTA could double the amount of cash it raises with very little effort. Please contact your Human Resources department to check if your company run a scheme and can give you a form to fill in. For more information about Match Funding go to http://www.pta.co.uk/funding/faqs-match-funding.aspx
