On Thursday 5th November 2026, we were delighted to celebrate the official opening of our Outdoor Woodland Area. Our Year 6 school ambassadors, Annabelle and James, gave a wonderful speech before introducing the PTA, who had the very special honour of cutting the ribbon to mark the official opening. Mr Lee thanked the PTA for their hard work and outstanding fundraising efforts, which raised an incredible £10,000 to bring this project to life.

Mr Taylor shared the vision for the area, including plans for a fire pit in the concrete section, a range of outdoor musical instruments, and exciting opportunities to use the space to support learning in Design and Technology, Science and Maths. Miss Hill then explained the activities for the day, with every year group taking part in planting a variety of hardy bulbs that will grow through the winter and burst into bloom in the spring. These included spring starflowers, daffodils, crocuses, hyacinths and tulips.

We were very grateful for the support of Cathy Dodd and Kelly Xuereb from Gardening Club, who helped the children planting the bulbs throughout the day. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to making this area such a success, especially Mrs Day and Alan from GI Landscapes who completed the work over the summer. We look forward to seeing the bulbs bloom in the spring and to watching this wonderful outdoor space flourish for many years to come.
