Over the last week, Year 3 children have spent time practising logging onto the homework sites in school. They have experienced logging on to Times Table Rock Stars (TTRS), Mathletics and Spelling Shed. Teachers have explained all homework expectations to Year 3 children and this has also been discussed with parents and carers in the welcome meeting, in line with the home school agreement.
Homework consists of:
• Reading at least 3 times a week - to be noted and signed in the Reading Record.
• Spelling Shed - 3 x 10 minute games will be set on a Monday.
• Times Tables Rock Stars - 10 x 1 minute games will be set on a Monday.
• Mathletics - 1 x 30 minute quest will be set on a Wednesday.
• Handwriting - a written activity will be sent home in dedicated handwriting books on a Wednesday.
All homework is due in on the following Monday. Children who do not complete homework will attend Catch Up Zone to allow time to catch up on any incomplete or missed work. This consists of staying in the classroom with the Year 3 team for a short period to catch up on missed homework.
Homework will begin on Monday 21st September 2026. Children will have regular reminders and the first set of homework will be due in on Monday 28th September 2026.
