This month, we have been celebrating Black History Month through a range of engaging activities across the school. Children also took part in a special assembly where they learned about the importance and history of Black History Month, as well as this year's theme.

Each year group explored a different focus. Year 3 learned about Rosa Parks, Year 4 studied Nelson Mandela, Year 5 investigated significant Black figures in STEM, and Year 6 completed a research project linked to our PSHE values.

Pupil voice shows how much children enjoy and value learning about Black History Month. They have loved discovering inspirational people, discussing important events and reflecting on how individuals can make a positive difference in the world.

We encourage families to continue these conversations at home. You can support your child's learning by taking part in your own Black History Month activities together. Please see the accompanying slides for suggestions to help deepen your child's learning and celebrate Black History Month as a family.
