Highly anticipated District Sports track events took place on Monday 7th July 2025. An excited squad of athletes took part in a variety of running events. We kicked of with the year 5 and 6 in the 800m. I am so pleased of our 800 m runners who trained very hard in the run up to this event! Such exciting races being rival battle and tight finishes. Year 3 and 4 ran in the 600m races next. Also a great effort from all our runners. Again very exciting races and an amazing result was achieved by Lockie who battled hard to gain positions in the final lap and achieve a silver medal! Our sprinters also put on a show lighting up the track with some tough competition. The morning concluded with relay races which again saw some really tough competition however swift baton changes and powerful sprinting made for an impressive display of sport.
So great to see our children support each other so strongly. And a huge thank you to our reserves who did not all get to run on the day. Their encouragement and team support did not go unnoticed. Also big thank you to Louise Wilson who’s voluntary support is so pivotal to the smooth running of the day. Also many thanks to the parents/carers for the support as well as getting children two and from the event.
