You may be aware that many schools are moving away from social media as a platform for sharing activities. Our decision to leave Twitter (X) is rooted in our unwavering commitment to upholding the principles of diversity, inclusion, and a safe and positive community. We remain dedicated to connecting with you through alternatives. Using emails, the newsletter and the website we can continue to share our great lessons, exciting visits and trips and also the enormous number of extra-curricular events, sports achievements and individual achievements of the staff and children. We will be moving towards populating special year group gallery pages on the website, for easy access for parents/carers to locate and enjoy.

As we move away from Twitter (X) to sharing photographs more directly (and less publicly), we will need to review the permissions that have been given in the past. You have previously indicated on forms if you did or did not not permit your child's photograph to be used, so we will be contacting those without permission to confirm if your child does or does not have permission to be used on the website and in the newsletter.

Please also note, that the taking of photographs of an event comes secondary to ensuring the safeguarding and safety of any school activity, and so there will be no guarantee that children with permission will be definitely included in a collection of pictures. Regarding trips, photographs will not be sent privately for those children without permission and the school affirms that those children will not be included in any photographs of any trip or visit. We fully respect your right as a parent/carer to protect the digital footprint of your children and no judgement is made on those children without permission to be in photographs. If by chance, a picture does include a child without permission, please contact the school immediately.

I believe a move away from Twitter (X) is in keeping with the school ethos and you may want to take this opportunity to take any pictures from that platform before I fully shut down the school account in the summer term.
