As part of the school's drive to develop independence, resilience and get them secondary ready, the Year 6 children are given the chance to take on responsibilities.
These range across the school to include things such as prefects, librarians, house captains, Head teacher helpers, monitors and digital leaders. The roles include key
positions that will help develop their abilities to apply themselves, follow instruction effectively and work together as a team. They can put themselves forward for specific
roles and many of them are keen to get involved. Not all Year 6 are expected to take on a responsibility however if they do choose to do this, it will be mentioned in their end of year report. The Year 6 children have found out what their particular responsibilities are going to be for the year. I was very keen to meet my new helper team and many of the roles will involve training to understand the responsibilities involved.
We are so proud of how the Year 6 children help the school run effectively and they are true role models for the rest of their younger peers. We find the roles and
responsibilities really inspire the rest of the school and staff. (BELIEVE)
The full list of roles can be seen in the document below.

The Ambassador Elections
The ambassadors nominate themselves and they have Google slides set on the Google classroom. They have to create a presentation with no more than five slides about why they would be a good ambassador for the school and why they should be voted for. We want to know what their Vision for the school is (BELIEVE). They have to produce their slides by the 26th September 2024. On Monday 30th September 2024, they present to the whole school. The children will then vote for two candidates to represent them and our school.
Selection of Roles and Responsibilities
We have also now completed the roles and responsibilities for the Year 6 children. The children selected three roles (after having each role explained) and they were each
awarded one of their three choices. This year, most children were awarded their first choice though some roles were so popular that names were selected using a
randomiser. Next week we will begin training them all for their roles.
