Week commencing 9th December 2024 is Design Technology Week and children may need bring in supplies.

Year 6 Will Be Making Slippers During DT Week

Year 6 children will need fabric to make slippers. Any old clothing e.g. fleeces, dressing gowns, sweatshirts etc would be absolutely fine but we appreciate some children may want specific fabric. The children will need about 1m x 1m (it does depend on their foot size). If you want to check, measure over the highest point of your child's foot and add 3 cm, and the length of their foot + 4cm - we need enough fabric for 4 of those.

Also, if anyone has any old vinyl flooring or old carpet underlay- it would be much appreciated!  We used to raid local flooring shops for their sample packs- though in recent years they understandably have been unable to provide this for us. This forms the sole of the slipper.

Year 3 Will be Creating Christmas Packaging

Over the coming weeks, Year 3 will be completing their D&T unit where they will be creating Christmas packaging! On Monday 9th December 2024, Year 3 will look at examples of packaging in all their different shapes, sizes and colours. Please could children bring in any surplus packaging they have at home on Monday 9th December 2024 . Examples include cereal boxes, biscuit boxes, tooth paste boxes, washing up power boxes. Any boxes and/or packaging would be brilliant! Please note, no packaging that contained any form of nuts.
