STUDENTS

We offer a range of special events at Wallace Fields Junior School as we believe that they help to promote a broad and balanced education. For example, residential school trips are offered in Years 4, 5 & 6. Residential trips this year included Year 4’s visit to Hooke Court, Dorset; Year 5 visited Little Canada, Isle of Wight and Year 6 spent a week in Ambletuese, France.

Residential Trips

There is an opportunity for the children to learn to play a musical instrument in school. Under the direction of our Music Co-ordinator we offer our children either peripatetic-tutored music lessons or inhouse lessons in Recorder, Guitar, Violin, Flute, Clarinet, Piano and Drums.

The Highwayman by Alfred Noyes

Year Six have been studying the poem The Highwayman by Alfred Noyes. They have used drama. Here they are exploring a key event when a decision has to be made by the main character. This is done by using 'conscious alley' where ideas are whispered to the main character who then considers the options she has.
